Cure My Slice

Posted in Uncategorized on June 2nd, 2011 by admin – 1,557 Comments

Have you ever played golf with someone who slows down the game because they slice the ball on every single drive? What is amazing about this player is that he hits his irons well. Why is the issue only with the driver? It’s so frustrating that you just want to shake the guy, but that’s bad golf etiquette.

I happen to be that guy and I know I need to cure my slice. I have been working on it for years, but not much has worked. I was told that muscle memory is the key, so more repetitions at the driving range have been helping. A new golf swing trainer has also been of some assistance. That said, I’m well aware that quality golf instruction will be the best way to cure my slice.

Therefore, I’m planning on setting up my first lesson this weekend.

A Great Golf Tip for Beginners

Posted in Uncategorized on January 26th, 2011 by admin – 1,207 Comments

If you’re a beginning golfer, you have probably been told a thousand beginner golf tips. This is because some people like to help and others like to show off about how much they know ” or think they know. Instead of listening to random strangers at the driving range or friends at a dinner party, take the following advice. The best tip for a beginner is to go to the driving range and start with a 9-iron. Do not, under any circumstances, move to an 8-iron until you have hit ten perfect 9-irons in a row. Do the same with the 8-iron. Eventually, you will get to the driver. But this will take time, as in more than one session at the driving range. The goal is to get to a point where you have mastered each club, one at a time. At that point, you will be ready for the real thing.

Top Three Golf Tips

Posted in Uncategorized on October 13th, 2010 by admin – 1,194 Comments

Everyone’s golf game needs a tune up once in awhile. Here are the top three golf tips to help you take your game to the next level:

-1- Practice perfectly. Have a plan when you practice, and focus on one or two skills in each session. Simulate game conditions as much as possible – practicing on the golf course is your best bet. And don’t just go to the driving range – practice your putts too.

-2- Don’t bring your stress to the game. Any kind of tension will negatively affect your tempo and your decision making. Allow the game to become your central focus – this is a great way to reduce stress, too.

-3- One of the most important golf tips is to visualize success. Imagine the perfect drive, the well-placed putt, and you will see improvements in your real play.

Beginners Tips for Great Golf

When first starting golf, beginners should focus on not creating bad habits. One of the best ways to do this is to take golf lessons from a professional. A golf instructor will show you how you to properly grip the club, develop your swing and which clubs to choose for which shot. As you learn, take it slow and keep track of your positioning and grip. One convenient place to practice your swing is at a local driving range. Take your clubs and work your way through each club and driver. Get out on the course and play as well with someone more experienced than you, even if it is just for a few holes. This exposure to good golf role models will help you to develop your game.

The growing golf instruction world

Golf instruction has long been an industry that required people to get in their car and head down to the course to get some help. There, teaching pros would take you under their wing and show you the best possible way to swing the club. These days, if you want to get some help, you have more options. For instance, you take golf video tips from many of the pros that publish their stuff online.

Taking golf video tips to heart and using them is a good way to get better on the cheap. Teaching pros are still the best option for improving your swing a lot, but the little things that you learn from videos can take you a long way and give you something to work on when you hit the driving range.

One of the most important factors to a satisfactory golfing experience is to start with professional golf lessons before you have had a chance to develop any bad habits. There are pointers that the PGA golf pro school teaches certified instructors that make developing a complete golf game much easier to accomplish. The cost is another factor. It is usually much more cost effective to buy a package of golf lessons at your local club or driving range then to purchase them one at a
time.
