Golf Slice Tips

Posted in Uncategorized on October 21st, 2010 by admin – 1,257 Comments

The slice is the bane of most amateur golfers. An ugly and weak shot that starts off right and keeps going that way, the slice can rob a golfer of distance and scores. One golf tip that may help to solve the slice is to make sure that there is not too much forearm rotation in the swing.

During the swing, if the forearms rotate too much, the club face will be fanned open, setting the golfer up to hit big slice. One way to solve this is to make sure that the back of the left wrist for a right handed golfer faces the golf ball on the takeaway instead of the sky. When the back of the left hand faces the ball, it ensures that the clubface will be square.

“If that guy was so good, he would be out on tour!” This might be your attitude on teaching pros, but you are massively understating their ability. A good teacher can provide a professional golf lesson that will open your eyes to all that you have been missing. If you are a poor golfer, then you likely have no idea what it’s like to hit a high, soft-landing shot that finds its target. Though a professional golf lesson won’t be a golden ticket to success, it will help you get there over time.

These guys have both the knowledge and the technical teaching experience to help you. They are schooled on little drills and small tips that can make improving your game much easier. After a quick lesson, you will understand the value of professional instruction.

Drop Strokes from Your Golf Score

Posted in Uncategorized on June 14th, 2010 by admin – 1,454 Comments

Golfers sometimes get to a certain point in their game and seem to get stuck right there. If you are stuck shooting no better than 90, there is something you can do that can easily drop five strokes off your game.

Chances are very good that when you shoot right around 90 you are capable of making a par or better on every hole. The reason your score tends to rise above 90 is that you have two or three holes that are disasters. How many times do you get an 8 on a par 4 immediately after getting par on the previous hole. Concentrate and play EVERY shot like it was the first. Don’t think about the last bad shot. A positive attitude goes a long way.

Hitting it long off the tee

In terms of golf tips, tee shot help can be the hardest to give. Tee shots are difficult because of all of the movements that are involved. It is a complicated process and in order to get the best result in the end, a lot of things have to go right for the player. This is why, when giving out golf tips, tee shot help is often very low on the list for some teachers.

The best pros can give you tips on how to put more shots in the fairway, though. It is possible to improve if you are dedicated and you simplify your swing. Too many players try to do too much with their swing and that is when problems happen. Keep it simple and keep your swing compact if you want consistency.

Golf is a game that is about much more than flexibility and strength. It is also about who can make the smartest decisions on the course. This is one of the reasons why golf is such a fascinating game, since there are so many different ways to approach it. What are some key mental golf tips that I would give players who want to be successful? One is to stick to what you’re good at.

One of the mental golf tips that new players need to focus on is concentrating on every shot. Golf is a game of mistakes, as everyone makes them. What sets the good players apart from the bad players is how devastating their mistakes are. If you concentrate on every shot, you will have fewer of the terrible mistakes.

What are golf lessons good for?

The cool thing about getting lessons from a teaching pro is that golf lessons help you put the game in perspective. It can seem like an intimidating game when you first start playing, because bad shots multiply and bad days seem to never end. What golf lessons help do is put you in the right mindset. That mindset is one of concentration, where you focus all of your energy on each and every shot, making the best out of that shot.

The best golfers understand that you are not going to be perfect and that consistency is the key to success. If you can put the same swing on the golf ball over and over, you will have a strong feel for the game. Golf lessons help with this, as teaching pros can give you the tips and insight that you need.

Shanks

Shanks are what golfers refer to as a bad shot that definitely does not go straight. Hitting the golf ball in a straight line requires rhythm and power to hit the ball squarely. If the club’s impact angle is off or if the player’s balance is not aimed directly at the ball, the bad angle of contact will create a wicked spin on the golf ball that can send it spinning in an undesired angle. Sometimes shanks are so bad, the ball will travel in the complete opposite direction as intended and it will be impossible to find the ball. Of course, a shank could cause your ball to end up in a pond, never to be seen again. A shank refers to any shot that the player loses control over.

Natural Golf Instruction

When there is a bunker in the center of the fairway it will be a difficult shot, even for a professional golfer. The tip you need to remember is to get the ball out quickly and safely, and placed in a suitable position for your next shot.

When you are in a bunker, and at a distance from the green, your goal will be to get out first and then advance the ball down the fairway as fast as possible and as far as possible.

Once you have assessed your position and situation then you may want to take one or two more clubs for the distance you will be traversing.

Hold the club down and move your hands a bit forward; balancing your weight at the same time with both feet on the ground, your knees are flexed and your body will be in center position.

Ways to Improve Your Golf Game

When we talk about getting better at golf, the only real medicine is lots of practice and tons of solid instruction. But there are a few little things that you can do in order to shave strokes off of your score. These won’t take a long time, and they are ultimately little reminders that you’ve probably already heard before.

The first is to slow down, and not try to hit the ball so hard. This is especially true with your irons. The best players are the ones who let their power come naturally from the development of a good swing. They have solid tempo and from that they get better than average distance control on their approach shots.

The second is to always have a plan with every shot. Too many golfers step up to the ball and don’t have any clue what they want to do with the shot. This is especially true around the green, where players will lose strokes because they haven’t thought about exactly where they want to land the next chip. If you can concentrate on having a distinct plan with every stroke, you will notice your score going lower.
