Finding The Perfect Golf Swing

Posted in Uncategorized on June 2nd, 2010 by admin – 1,000 Comments

Finding the perfect golf swing is something that people work on for their entire lives. Nobody is born with the perfect golf swing; rather, it is a talent that takes years to hone, and comes from hours of analyzing what works for you and what doesn’t.

The perfect golf swing is different for everyone; what works for you will likely not work for someone else, as everyone’s body is different. While using someone else’s swing for inspiration is never a bad idea, copying it outright is, and will usually lead you in the wrong direction. Make not of what works for you and what doesn’t, and hone your swing over time through trial and error, just like the pros.

Chasing the Perfect Golf Swing

Someone who has never played a round of golf can not possibly understand what is meant by a perfect golf swing. It’s not something that can be explained or that can be demonstrated. More than the successful execution of a series of movements, including proper stance, correct alignment with the ball and smooth follow through, a perfect swing is almost a spiritual experience.

When everything comes together and the face of the club connects with the ball at exactly the right speed and angle, something happens to a golfer. If he’s new at the sport, he’s hooked. It may be a long time before it happens again but he will never forget it. If he’s a veteran on the links, then it’s sweet payback for all those times when he’s prayed for that perfect golf swing but came up short.

Try to be open minded about the kind of instruction you are seeking.

I would advise someone considering professional golf instruction to think about buying a DVD set, or even browsing the internet. Some of the greatest pros in golf have put out videos with lots of great tips, and others provide instruction on the internet. A professional golf instruction video can be almost as great as getting personal access to a pro, and in some ways it’s even better because you can rewind and watch things repeatedly. In general it’s also easy to save a lot of money using this method, so you should really consider it as a viable option. Golf is a complex game, and seeking out some form of instruction is a lot better than struggling to learn it by yourself.

Golfing with Grandpa

Going out and golfing with grandpa is one experience in the game that is recommended for everyone. There is no better way to enjoy and learn about the game than from someone that has been playing it for a lifetime. Grandpa will have a thousand wonderful stories about odd shots, hole-in-one’s, and secret tips that no one else knows about the game. These stories can become treasured memories on a cool afternoon on the course.

Also, taking grandpa out for a round of golf makes for quality family time. There is almost no other game where you can leisurely enjoy quality time with someone in the outdoors. Golf has a gentle pace that offers time for interaction, memories, and great tales of games won in the past.
